Reverse Missions

The Reverse Missions are yearly study visits to the member regions. Leading experts, entrepreneurs, public servants and policy makers from the DC network gather to explore a host region during a multi-day program that provides insights into the way the hosting region fosters creativity and innovation. Business meetings, site visits, presentations and workshops are worked out with the aim to bring inspiration, best practices and loads of useful contacts that can be translated to the other DC regions.

Reverse Mission 2025 – Flanders & North Brabant

The 2025 Reverse Mission in Flanders & North Brabant will spotlight innovation in and through design and fashion, promising a vibrant and thought-provoking program. From fashion tech and creative practices to design-driven innovation and socially engaged changemakers, the event will explore how design is shaping tomorrow’s world.

Taking place from October 21 to 24, 2025, the mission will be hosted across Flanders (Belgium) and North Brabant (The Netherlands), offering a unique perspective on how both regions leverage design and fashion as catalysts for transformation across sectors and society. Flanders, with its rich heritage in avant-garde fashion, creativity, and the textile industry, has long been a breeding ground for innovation — with Antwerp as its fashion laboratory, inspiring a new wave of start-ups pushing the sector forward.

The program will highlight different dimensions of future-making design — showcasing how cities like Kortrijk, Ghent and Eindhoven are using design to shape their identity, promote innovation in public space, and drive progress in education, healthcare, and technology during the visit to Wonderfestival and Dutch Design Week 2025.
